About Dr. Arnav Kumar

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND

Dr. Arnav Kumar is an interventional cardiologist and structural heart valve specialist with rare, comprehensive training across multiple fields of cardiology. He completed advanced fellowship training in complex coronary interventions at Harvard Medical School’s Brigham and Women’s Hospital, where he also pursued an additional fellowship in structural heart interventions and peripheral vascular interventions. Prior to this, he trained in general cardiology at Emory University. Dr. Kumar also dedicated two years to fellowship training in advanced cardiac imaging research at the Cleveland Clinic, where he honed his expertise in state-of-the-art imaging techniques.

APPROACH TO MEDICINE

Dr. Kumar is deeply committed to individualized patient care, guided by the latest clinical research and evidence-based guidelines. Over the years, he has treated a remarkably high volume of patients from across Texas who seek him out for some of the most challenging cardiovascular conditions.

His clinical and research interests focus on valve hemodynamics, coronary physiology, advanced imaging, and plaque vulnerability. Dr. Kumar has authored more than 200 peer-reviewed publications, led multiple clinical trials, and received numerous national awards. With his rare combination of specialized training in structural heart disease, advanced coronary interventions, and cardiac imaging—combined with access to the latest technologies through clinical trials—he provides a unique and trusted perspective for patients, many of whom are referred to him for a second, third, or even fourth opinion.

HOBBIES

Outside of medicine, Dr. Kumar enjoys exploring Houston’s diverse restaurant scene and discovering new culinary experiences. He values time with his family and is an enthusiastic fan of both soccer and cricket.
