Meuryn Hechavarria earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Prairie View A&M University in 2014 and began her career in adult dialysis before spending eight years specializing in pediatric dialysis at Texas Children’s Hospital. During this time, she developed extensive expertise in renal disease, chronic kidney management, and complex patient care. She later completed her Master of Science in Nursing at Texas Woman’s University in 2022 and practiced as a Family Nurse Practitioner prior to transitioning into cardiology. She brings comprehensive clinical knowledge in renal and dialysis care, family medicine, hypertension management, cholesterol control, and cardiovascular disease prevention to Modern Heart & Vascular Institute.
Meuryn Hechavarria’s approach to medicine is rooted in prevention and long-term cardiovascular health. She focuses on early identification and management of hypertension and high cholesterol to reduce the risk of heart disease and avoid unnecessary procedures or medications whenever possible. By emphasizing patient education, lifestyle modification, and evidence-based treatment plans, she partners with patients across Houston and surrounding communities to improve heart health outcomes and overall wellness.
Outside of caring for patients, Meuryn Hechavarria enjoys traveling with her husband and two daughters. She loves visiting tropical islands, snorkeling, and creating meaningful family memories through new experiences and adventure.
